Client 2: Human Resource Manager Asia Pacific (APAC)

Client W was a large European oil and gas solution provider with a subsidiary in Kuala Lumpur. We were engaged to search for the Human Resource Manager Asia Pacific (APAC) position, a new regional position to be based in Kuala Lumpur created to manage their growing number of companies across Asia Pacific a few months after our success in helping them to fill up their regional Finance Manager Asia Pacific (APAC) position. Due to its regional role, we liaised with their senior recruiter and Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) who were both based in their headquarter in Europe.

Our approach was to look for someone who had regional Asia Pacific HR manager experience in oil and gas industry as well as some experience in the key individual countries in Asia Pacific with Client W offices. We were able to send a series of shortlisted candidates to them within a month. Towards the end of one month, a few candidates were selected for a few tests and after which we arranged for Skype interview with the interviewers based in Europe. Towards the end, 3 candidates were selected for second interview in the Kuala Lumpur office. Finally, the successful candidate was chosen out of the three based on the most relevant experience in APAC regional managerial role, education background, assessment results and interview performance.
